Claire Uwineza knows from experience that confidence can change a life. As the CEO of Resonate, she has dedicated her work to helping young women in Rwanda discover the strength, voice and self belief that open doors to opportunity. Her mission is rooted in a simple truth. When a woman begins to trust her own voice, everything around her begins to shift.
Through Resonate, Claire leads programs that focus on storytelling, leadership and mentorship. These programs help girls and young women reflect on their journeys, understand their abilities and speak their truths with clarity. Under her leadership, thousands have taken part in workshops where they learn to tell their stories, set their goals and take the first steps toward independence. For many, it is the first time they hear their own voice as something powerful and worthy of being listened to.
Claire’s work goes far beyond the training room. She has strengthened Resonate’s internal systems, built strong partnerships and ensured that every program has lasting impact. Her leadership style is grounded in care, intentionality and the belief that women deserve more than encouragement. They deserve opportunities, structure and a network of support that helps them grow. She also serves on the Rwanda Women Leaders Network, where she advocates for women’s leadership across the country and works with national institutions to advance gender equality.
Before joining Resonate, Claire spent years working in development with organizations like Oxfam, World Vision Rwanda and Aegis Trust. These experiences shaped her understanding of community needs, youth empowerment and the importance of African-led leadership. When she speaks to young women about charting their own paths, she speaks as someone who has walked her own with courage, resilience and determination.
At the heart of her work is a profound belief in the transformative power of confidence. A girl who learns to speak her story aloud may become the first in her family to pursue higher education. A young woman who develops leadership skills may start a business that supports her entire household. A mother who gains clarity and self belief may guide her children toward futures she once thought were out of reach. For Claire, these individual changes grow into something larger. They strengthen communities and build a new generation of women who lead with purpose.
Her vision is deeply human. She sees the potential in each woman she meets, not as an abstract idea but as something real and immediate. She knows that empowerment is not a gift but a partnership. It begins with listening, grows through confidence and becomes change when a woman sees herself as capable and deserving.
Claire Uwineza’s leadership has touched thousands of lives.
