Lisa Issroff is an inspirational philanthropist and has devoted her life to improving the opportunities available to others.
In 2007, Lisa and her husband established The Issroff Family Foundation which focuses on inspiring, developing and empowering the youth in Southern and Eastern Africa, New York, and Israel. IFF partner with organisations that increase access to education, encourage entrepreneurship, and foster opportunity for young people. As IFF’s Executive Director, Lisa provides funding, capacity, and advisory support to their partners. Lisa’s particular interest in empowering young women is demonstrated by her development program, WeareWISE, which provides opportunities and a supportive network to women in the social sector.
Throughout her life, Lisa has served on the boards of numerous organisations involved in improving education, health and social services for people in Africa. These include Ongoza, who provide business development support for Kenyan entrepreneurs, and Educate!, who aim to reduce youth unemployment through skills-based development programs. Lisa is also currently on the US Advisory Board of the African Leadership Academy.
Lisa shares SIA-Africa’s belief that through creating networks, sharing resources, and working together, we can drive positive change within society. For her dedication to philanthropy, education and youth empowerment, we award Lisa Issroff as SIA-Africa’s Person of the Month for June 2021.
