Colin Smith is the Content Director at Africa Alert, a news-monitoring service that tracks key business, economic, and development topics and trade in Africa. They monitor news and special sources, both internationally and domestically in Africa, to compile relevant stories for clients.
In the role of Content Director, Colin reviews news websites for inclusion on the Africa Alert service, maintains and updates records of the news sites, identifies potential clients and business partners for Africa Alert, and lastly, develops Africa Alert's Twitter presence and other social media. Colin is passionate about investment and trade, recognizing it as a valuable tool in growing economic infrastructure and sustainability.
Colin Smith originally got his start in the online business information market. From there he has gained experience in numerous managerial roles for a variety of leading business information companies. He has worked both within the U.S. and the UK. He has an economic history degree from Loughborough University and is intimately familiar with the voluntary, health and clinical research sectors.
