SIA-Africa is pleased to announce our person of the month, Rihanna. The superstar American pop singer has recently been named Ambassador for Global Partnership for Education. The native Barbadian performer is also an avowed humanitarian involved with education initiatives in African countries.
In 2012, Rihanna founded the Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF), a non profit organization whose mission is to benefit impoverished countries across the globe with healthcare and education, among other various programs. CLF has partnered with the Global Partnership for Education and Global Citizen to advocate for strong education systems that ensure all children can get a quality education.
In February 2018, The GPE Financing Conference was held in Dakar, Senegal. It was the largest education financing event ever hosted with more than 10 heads of state, 100 ministers and over 1,000 participants, including Rihanna.
SIA-Africa is joining Rihanna in advocating for quality education for all children and hopes that 2018 will make a significant impact and place education as a priority across the world.
